Contemplating the radical nature of this luminaire, which will soon be a hundred years old, makes you realise just how avant-garde the Grande Dame of Design really was!

The Vereinigten Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk in Munich (1898-1991) was a company set up by artists to produce interior fittings, either individually or in small series. They held the copyright to some of Eileen Gray’s pieces. The Vereinigte Werkstätten became ClassiCon in 1990.
